INDUSTRIAL HARD CHROME PLATING

Since hard chrome improves specifications of the machine parts, it is widely used in the industry.

Hard chrome plating is applied to improve life time of new machine parts and is also used to repair worn, damaged or mismachined worthy machine parts.


APPLICATION ADVANTAGES :

  • Parts are not warped at low operation temperature (50-55 ºC)
  • Can be stripped and plated on the steel substrate several times
  • Very small to very large workpiece
  • It is suitable to less ( 3-5 µm) or much ( ≥ 1000 µm) thickness

When using conditions, technical requirements and economical realities are taken into consideration, pieces are plated to 1000µm thickness. But in some special applications, plating thickness can be over 1000µm.


Hard chrome plating applications are made in baths that confirm according to workpieces’s shapes and dimentions. There are many kind of baths in electroplating workshop that use plating of rolls, shafts and litle parts. On the other hand more complex parts like moulds are plated in special baths


High quality electrolyte which presents rapid high hardness to plates is used in hard chrome baths. Plate structure and productivity are checked regularly.
Hard chrome plating applications contain materials like steel alloys, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, brass, bronze and coated surfaces. Especially, hard chrome plating of aluminum and alloys cover significant part of our occupation.
NODULER HARD CHROME PLATING
Texture of nodular hard chrome plating is formed by microscopic nodules. Dimensions of nodules are important for obtaining the expected roughness value and nodular hard chrome is especially used for synthetic yarn and fiber production.
Hard chrome plated parts can be used with their simple shape and they can also be used with ground and polished shape according to specification. In certain conditions, through the blasting workpieces more roughness surfaces are obtained.
